In 2005, after years of working in the NYC fashion and photography industries, Melissa moved to the suburbs and
lovingly restored her 1920's Dutch colonial home. Inspired to help others realize the importance of beautiful practical design, Melissa began to grow her business.
Melissa's style is one of collaboration and she prides herself on being able to distill a client's design preferences and build a foundation upon which they can add to for years to come. Melissa helps her clients hone in on existing pieces that can work in their design, as well as help them to declutter and make smart decisions when buying new pieces.
She is a master of mixing the high-end with eclectic estate sale and flea market finds, creating a style that clearly reflects the personality of her clients.
Testimonial:
Melissa is a treasure. When we bought our hundred-year old fixer upper that had not been redecorated for at least 50 years (no joke!), I knew Melissa would be instrumental in the transformation process. I am a person who knows a beautiful and stylish home when I see one, but somehow the steps to take to get from point A to point B are a complete puzzle to me. We appealed to Melissa to decide the entire color palette for the paint in our new home.
In our initial consultation, the only personal preference I was able to articulate to Melissa was that I tend to prefer pale colors. She took that little bit of information and built a modern, calm, and romantic color palette around it.
That is Melissa's strength: she is able to infuse personal preference with fabulous style, so that your home is a reflection of you, but the most savvy, brilliant, and fashionable side of you!
